Styrene Comes Under the Spotlight in the 2011 Report on Carcinogens

PRLog (Press Release) – Jun 27, 2011 – Styrene came under heavy scrutiny earlier this month when the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, working through the National Toxicology Program, released the 12th Report on Carcinogens. The Report on Carcinogens (RoC) is a congressionally mandated, science-based, public health document that is prepared for the HHS Secretary by the National Toxicology Program. The report identifies agents, substances, mixtures, and exposure circumstances that are known or reasonably anticipated to cause cancer in humans. In it, styrene is listed as being reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen based on limited evidence of carcinogenicity from studies in humans, sufficient evidence of carcinogenicity from studies in experimental animals, and supporting data on mechanisms of carcinogenesis.

Styrene is a colorless, flammable liquid, which has a sweet odor and is highly volatile. It is an industrial chemical used to make polystyrene and resins, such as reinforced plastics and rubber.  "Workers in various occupations can potentially be exposed to much higher levels of styrene than the general population," reported Ed Chambers, President of EC2, a leading Midwest occupational health and indoor air quality (IAQ) consul rc helicopter market place ting firm.  "Workers may breathe the chemical and also absorb styrene through their skin. Styrene can contaminate the air, water, soil and even food garbage compactor review supplies.  People may also be exposed to styrene through breathing indoor air that has styrene vapors from off-gassing of building materials, photocopiers, tobacco smoke and other common products.  In most circumstances styrene levels in indoor ai trash bins r is greater than outdoor air.  People living near industrial facilities or hazardous waste sites may also be at risk for exposure to styrene.  Fortunately there are ways to test 1086274 manual trash compactor 749  the IAQ and outdoor environments to ensure styrene is not a potential health hazard," he continued.

New Market Research Report: Russia Petrochemicals Report Q3 2011

PRLog (Press Release) – Jun 26, 2011 – Growth in Russian petrochemicals capacity will make it increasingly difficult for European and Asian producers to export to Russia despite expected strong growth in demand over the next five years, according to BMI's latest Russia Petrochemicals Report.

Russian chemical output was up 14.6% in 2010 while rubber and plastic production grew 21.5%. These sectors outpaced the 11.8% overall growth for the manufacturing sector and reversed the declines seen in 2009. The pace of growth was assisted by strong growth in petrochemicals using industries, such as the automotive industry which grew by nearly a third. While leading Russian petrochemicals producer Sibur's rubber output soared 28% y-o-y, to 434,000 tonnes, and fertiliser production grew 6%, to 2.95mn tonnes, its polymer output declined 0.6%, to 592,000 tonnes. This demonstrates the weaknesses within the market, particularly with the poor performance of the construction sector, which shrank over 2% in 2010 thereby negatively impacting on PVC sales. This is set to change with construction growth of 0.8% in 2011, although the residential and non-residential construction industry value will continue to decline in coming years. We see recovery on the back of preparations for the 2018 World Cup, especially in commercial construction.

--------------------------------------------- ---------------Full Report Details at - http://www.fastmr.com/prod/171522_russia_petrochemicals_ ... ------------------------------------------------------------

Petrochemicals production growth will be led by Sibur's expansion in 2011, with the company planning a 14% y-o-y rise in output, to 18.8mn tonnes. Although the strong rouble will likely start to hurt external demand for manufactures at some point, for now we remain upbeat on the outlook for the petrochemicals sector. With inflation set to fall in the second half of the year, and consumer confidence likely to rise thanks to the strength of the wider economy, we expect consumption to start recovering in H211. With banks well placed to lend, we believe that household spending will become an increasingly important driver of growth over the coming years. This should stimulate growth in consumption of polymers used in the rapidly expanding consumer goods industries, which will be boosted by growth in household expenditure.

Russia's polymer sector will see significant changes due to expansion of production capacity, which should reduce reliance on imports and stabilise prices. New projects include SNO Kenmore Bisque 15 inchi S's recent commencement of production at its new 120,000tpa HDPE plant and the beginning of commercial operations at Sibur Khimprom's new 50,000tpa EPS plant at Perm, the planned completion of Alco- Nafta's 240,000tpa bottle-grade PET plant, Sibur's planned 500,000tpa PP facility and 1mn tpa ethylene cracker at the Tobolsk Neftekhim site and its 330,000tpa PVC JV with SolVin at Kstovo due to be completed in 2012. State-owned Gazprom also has plans for a complex in the Orenburg region with capacities of 650,000tpa PE and 450,000tpa PP, expected to come onstream in 2015.

In 2015, we envisage ethylene capacities totalling 5.22mn tpa; this may be greater if plans for the Salavat Neftekhim Petrochemicals Complex come to fruition, with the possibility of cracker capacity of 1mn ta. We previously envisaged capacity growth lagging behind domestic needs, based on petrochemicals demand exceeding GDP growth rates of 6-8%. The impact of the recession, which led to a 10% decline in plastics production to around 4mn tonnes in 2009, combined with average GDP growth rates of around 4% over the next five years, means that ove helicop ter technology rall capacity should rise broadly in line with demand trends.

Dumpster Hauling vs. Burning Construction Debris

PRLog (Press Release) – Jun 25, 2011 – Construction and demolition debris is made up of brick, stone, mortar, asphalt, lumber, wallboard, glass, roofing, metal, piping, fixtures and electrical wiring.  This debris needs to be disposed of in an environmentally friendly way and the hazards of burning need to be fully understood.

It is illegal to burn debris from homes and other buildings as they may contain a number of hazardous materials including plastics and other petroleum-based products and chemically treated woods and fibers.  When burned, these materials emit toxic fumes that can pose great health hazards.

The burning of waste can lead to toxic emissions like dioxins, volatile organic compounds and hydrogen chloride.  People near the burn site could potentially experience eye and skin irritation, breathing problems, and even central nervous system issues like dizziness and headaches.  Burning construction debris is a serious health risk.  Burning construction and demolition materials sends pollutants into the air that can affect our health and environment.  These pollutants will contaminate our lakes, streams, soil and feed crops when they enter our food chain by embedding in animal fat and dairy products.

If you are burning any materials outdoors without air pollution controls, you are affecting the health and well being of a large population.  Smoke from treated wood and trash contains tiny particles that insert deep inside the lung tissue.  These tiny particles can cause severe health issues later in a Kenmore Bisque 15 inchi person's life.  Children are the most at risk.

The building materials that create toxic smoke is created by the following building materials:

·         Plastics ·         PVC siding, flooring, piping ·         Foam insulation · garbage compactor review         Plastic Wraps ·         Green, CCA pressure treated wood ·         Glues in particleboard ·         Petroleum products ·     trash bins     Asphalt shingles ·         Asbestos containing materi manual trash compactor als, like old pipe insulation or really old shingles ·         Solvents

Therefore, when disposing of building materials that create toxic smoke. Remember, 30 yard Dumpsters R Us dumpster rental and hauling is the safest alternative when disposing of construction debris.

Roll-off open-top dumpsters are typically rented for construction and demolition debris or junk removal or yard waste jobs that are too big for the weekly garbage pick-up.

Roll-off dumpsters are rectangular containers size being determined by volume in cubic yard. Most common roll-off dumpster sizes are 30 yard, 20 yard, 15 yard and 10 yard containers. They are rented by volume 1086274749  and weight. For example, Dumpsters R Us rents dumpsters with the dimensions: 6'H, x 8'W, x 22'L which includes a five ton limit and two weeks of usage. Always be aware of a dumpster rental companies that do not notify you of weight limits and charges.

Market Report, "South Africa Petrochemicals Report Q3 2011", published

PRLog (Press Release) – Jun 25, 2011 – The South African polymers market is set for a resurgence in 2011, according to BMI's latest South Africa Petrochemicals Report. Consumer spending continues to show signs of life, boosted by the low interest rate environment, ongoing wage increases and rising asset prices. Nevertheless, the overall picture for the South African economy is one of only moderate growth. We are forecasting annual economic expansion of 3.5% in 2011 from 2.8% in 2010 followed by an average 4.2% over 2012-2015. Private consumption will support growth due to an accommodative monetary policy and significant wage increases. This is spurring growth in demand for consumer durables, which in turn has fuelled growth in the market for a wide range of polymers.

-------------------------------------------- trash bins ----------------Full Report Details at - http://www.fastmr.com/prod/171549_south_africa_petrochem ... ------------------------------------------------------------

However, this will be partly offset by the effects of sluggish investment, with the pace of expansion notably slower than pre-financial crisis levels of 2.0-5.0%, and while World Cup-related spending may have raised the figures over recent years, we are still somewhat concerned over the outlook for investment. Moving forward, we are mindful of the fact that sentiment towards South Africa has weakened following the long-running spate of industrial action coupled with high unemployment and rising political risk.

Perhaps the biggest risk to our outlook stems from China. Our Asia analysts are forecasting real GDP growth of 8.3% in 2011, but risks are both to the upside and the downside, with significant implications for South Africa. If the Chinese economy manages to sustain its recent speedy growth (and overheating, in our view), we may revise up our forecasts for South African export growth, given that China is a leading export destination. Less positively, if the slowdown in China turns out to be more marked than we currently anticipate, South Africa would feel the pain through reduced export revenues. This would have concurrent downside risks for manufacturing segments that consume polymer products. Yet, the positive impact of rising demand on the local industry could be undermined by an influx of Chinese imports, made cheaper by the strength of the rand.

In BMI's Middle East and Africa Petrochemicals Business Environment matrix, South Africa comes seventh with 53.3 points, unchanged since the previous quarter due to an improvement in its country risk score. It lies 2.2 points behind Israel and 6.1 points ahead of Turkey. The South African petrochemical industry is the largest in Africa, although relatively small by international standards. It contributes about 5% of GDP and accounts for 25% of manufacturing sales. The industry is reshaping itself, striving to bring plant capacities closer to world production levels, exploiting niche markets, acquiring foreign assets and promoting foreign partnerships, although it will also face challenges from new capacities in the Middle East and Asia. South Africa has the second largest refining sector in Africa after Egypt, with a total refining/liquid fuels capacity of 695,000b/d.

----------------------------------------------------- -------Full Report Details at - http://www.fastmr.com/prod/171549_south_africa_petrochem ...

Our Asia analysts ar garbage compactor review e forecasting real GDP growth of 8.3% in 2011, but risks are both to the upside and the downside, with significant implications f manual trash compactor or South Africa. If the Chinese economy manages to sustain its recent speedy growth (and overheating, in our view), we may revise up our forecasts for South African export growth, given that China is a leading export destination. Less positively, if the slowdown in China trash bins turns out to be more marked than we currently anticipate, South Africa would feel the pain through reduced export revenues.

The industry is reshaping itself, striving to bring plant capacities closer to world production levels, exploiting niche markets, acquiring foreign assets and promoting fo Kenmore Bisque 15 inchi reign partnerships, although it will also face challenges from new capacities in the Middle East and Asia. South Africa has the second largest refining sector in Africa after Egypt, with a total refining/liquid fuels capacity of 695,000b/d. It controls a significant portion of the regional market for refined products.

Premier’s Award winners announced

PRLog (Press Release) – Jun 24, 2011 – The Jennen family of Thamesville has found a way of getting into the fresh fruit and vegetable market early and staying later.

The Jennens, Ellen, her husband, Peter, and their children Rebecca, Emily and Mitchell, have covered seven acres of their crops in high tunnels. They'll be putting five more acres under tunnels by next year, Ellen says. For irrigation, the Jennens use water from a three million gallon pond of recaptured rainwater. This year they're growing peppers, tomatoes and strawberries.

The Jennens Family Farm Market business was among seven regional recipients of the Premier's Award for Agri-Food Innovation Excellence. The winners came from Chatham-Kent, Essex and Lambton counties. The awards were handed out June 13 in Kingsville.

Ellen says t rc helicopter market place heir first cropping year with the high tunnel system was in 2008. "We've always had a farm market here and we've always been in fresh vegetables and we were looking for the edg helicop ter technology e of getting into the market earlier and staying in the market later and having very good quality."

In 2009, the Jennens won their first award for the tunnel farming system – the Environment Award from the Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce.

Some of the six other regional winners in the Chatham-Kent, Essex and Lambton counties area include a farmer who developed a new system f manual trash compactor or getting the best possible concentration of fertilizer for vegetable transplants, a greenhouse grower who designed an air transfer system and another greenhouse grower who uses a perennial grass, miscanthus, to produce energy. The grass is cubed making it useful for fuel or fibre for packaging material, plastic injection moulding, building materials and animal bedding.

Another winner, Mike Buis of Chatham, says it's hard to think of a farmer doing cattle ranching and vegetable production together. But "that's exactly what I figured out how to do."

Buis grows sweet corn, green beans, tomatoes and other high value crops for the processing market plus seed corn. After harvest, he'll plant a cover crop of oats, rye or others he's tried "and we'll pasture 350 cows on that same ground usually from about early November until June 1."

The cows graze on the cover crops and crop residues. In January, he'll supplement their diet with vegetable byproducts or sweet corn silage. "Essentially we can grow enough on our ground to sustain the herd for the winter," he explains.

The Premier's Award for Agri-Food Innovation Excellence recognizes and rewards outstanding innovations developed by farmers, agri-food businesses and organizations. The recipients get $5,000 1086274749  each. There have been 55 winners each year including the Premier's Award and the Minister's Award recipients. Launched in 2007, the award program was initially scheduled to end after five years but it was made into a permanent trash bins program in November 2010. BF

Market Report, "Brazil Petrochemicals Report Q3 2011", published

PRLog (Press Release) – Jun 21, 2011 – Electricity supply problems coupled with the continued appreciation of the real have adversely affected Brazilian petrochemicals production and sales to the benefit of imports, but BMI's latest Brazil Petrochemicals Report argues that there is still plenty of room for growth in 2011.

In Q111, the chemical industry production index fell 5.3% and the sales index fell 4.6%, affected by the electricity blackouts that hit the country's north east in February. Thermostatic resins declined 33.5%, plasticisers fell by 23.2%, synthetic fibre intermediates 19.0% and intermediates for plastics 16.0%. Groups of thermoplastic resins and basic petrochemical products exhibited decreases of 3.4% and 7.7% respectively. In Q111 the proportion of output destined for exports declined 9.3% y-o-y. However, the national apparent consumption of chemicals products was up 2.8% y-o-y in the quarter, with the entire increase in demand fulfilled by imports whose volume grew 21.6% y-o-y as a result. The chemicals price index grew 13.6% in the period. For the 12 months to March 2011, production grew just 1.2% and sales rose 2.3%.

----------------------------------------------------- -------Full Report Details at - http://www.fastmr.com/prod/171455_brazil_petrochemicals_ ... ------------------------------------------------- Kenmore Bisque 15 inchi -----------

The apparent slowdown in domestic sales growth by the Brazilian chemicals industry coupled with a surge in imports is indicative of the loss in industry competitiveness that BMI attributes to the strengthening value of the real. Associacao Brasileira da Industria Quimica (Abiquim, Brazilian Chemical Industry Association) has warned that the situation will affect investment in the industry over the long term unless the situation changes. The real had gained significant strength against the dollar from September 2008, following a large influx of US dollars in the country. However, BMI does not foresee a significant appreciation in the currency against the dollar in the short term, given that the Brazilian government, since October 2009, has regularly intervened - through taxes on financial operations (IOF) - in order to stop the currency from appreciating. Our core view in this regard is that a move through the BRL1.64/US$ level would likely trigger more intervention, which should limit upside potential against the dollar for the time being. The impact of rapid currency appreciation on Brazil's export competitiveness will remain a key political and economic policy issue for the foreseeable future. Rapid economic growth and huge fiscal stimulus injections in Latin America's largest economy continue to fuel higher inflation, leading to higher interest rates and att rc helicopter market place racting real-boosting capital inflows due to a widening rate differential with developed economies. While the considerable fall in import costs associated with a stronger currency have been a boon for Brazilian consumers, manufacturers are finding themselves undercut by foreign competitors both domestically and abroad.

The domestic market has huge potential, which alone will alone sustain healthy overall sales growth, if economic activity is maintained at current rates. With domestic demand surging and the export picture turning increasingly favourable amid strong Asian demand for Brazil's varied commodities complex, the medium-term outlook for Brazil is one of above-trend growth, with annual real GDP growth set to average 4.9% y-o-y between 2011 and 2015. BMI points out that currency woes add more concerns to the position of domestic producers in the market.

Brazil is third in BMI's Americas Petrochemicals Business Environment Ratings with a composite score of 63.5 points. While it has a relatively large petrochemicals industry, Brazil's score is weighed down by a higher level of risk than most other countries in the region, with its long-term financial market risk a notable cause of concern. Brazil's only chance to climb the ratings and overtake Canada is if the latter reduces its capacities, which is a distinct possibility as the Canadian petrochemicals industry struggles to compete in the global market and the US market remains in the doldrums. Brazil is 4.6 points ahead of Mexico and 13.3 points behind Canada.

Market Report, "Spain Petrochemicals Report Q3 2011", published

PRLog (Press Release) – Jun 18, 2011 – Export growth will lead the recovery of the Spanish petrochemicals industry with domestic sales set to remain weak in 2011, according to BMI's latest Spain Petrochemicals Report.

The key elements vital for private consumption to grow - including higher incomes, lower taxes, greater wealth and available consumer credit - will all be lacking in Spain over the medium term, and this will thrust Spanish petrochemicals production into increased export dependency. We have revised down our forecast for Spanish growth in 2011 to 0.7%, from 0.9% previously, on the back of the government's push for major fiscal consolidation this year, which allows for little prospect of recovery. Indeed, aside from exports, we believe it unlikely that any petrochemicals market will recover in 2011. In order to recover competitiveness lost during the boom years and successfully rebalance the economy away from an overreliance on domestic demand, asset prices and real wages will need to be brought down further. As such, we believe that Spanish growth will prove anaemic over the long run, averaging 1.6% through to 2015.

----------------------------------------------------- -------Full Report Details at - http://www.fastmr.com/prod/171473_spain_petrochemicals_r ... ------------------------------------------------------------

The country remains burdened with low levels of consumer confidence, contraction of credit and rising inflation, all of which are combining to dampen domestic demand. Firms have failed to see a significant rebound in industrial activity, with industrial production growth - a bellwether for the petrochemicals industry - proving flat in recent months. With industrial production remaining well below 2007 levels, and with low capacity utilisation rates, overall demand for petrochemicals products will be capped for the foreseeable future.

BMI believes Spanish petrochemicals production will grow on the back of growth in eurozone markets. The resumption of operations at the PET plant at San Roque, after Compania Espanola de Petroleos (Cepsa) acquired it from La Seda de Barcelona (LSB) in January 2011, is largely in response to declines in imports from Asia, which had undermined domestic production. The plant, which was closed in September 2008, will be integrated with Cepsa's 480,000tpa PTA facility at Guadarraque, creating a captive market for its output. The move should enhance and grow PTA-PET output in 2011. The reopening of the San Roque PET facility comes nearly a year after LSB brought its PET plant at El Prat de Llobregat following a lengthy shutdown.

An increase in PET output, helped by the resumption of production at a PET plant at San Roque, prompts us to raise our chemicals output growth forecast for 2011 from 3.0% to 3.5%. However, this is still lower than the 4.0% growth estimated in 2010 and not enough to offset the 11% decline reported in 2011. Most of the growth seen in 2010 was due to stronger export performance along with domestic polymers restocking activity. Although production has yet to reach pre-crisis levels, revenues from chemicals production grew by around 8.5% in 2010 with a further 6.5% expected in 2011 as prices recover, more than offsetting the 4.1% decline reported in 2009. As such, by end-2011, annual sales could reach around EUR60bn. Exports are leading the recovery, increasing around 17.5% in 201 trash bins 0 to over EUR23bn. In 2011, exports are set to rise by a further 17% to EUR28bn. The fortunes of the Spanish chemicals industry have been far more favourable than the rest of the industrial sector. However, BMI still expects some outdated and smaller plants to be taken offline permanently leading to shrinkage in available production capacity, although continuing restructuring efforts.

Spain scores 67.8 points, putting it in sixth place in our Western Europe Petrochemicals Kenmore Bisque 15 inchi Ratings, 1.8 points behind the UK. Its score has improved in recent quarters due to a rise in its country risk score, particularly its long-term external risk.
